There are two ways of collecting. Since it is our goal to make collecting premium digital art as accessible as possible, the first way is by paying a traditional invoice, like collecting a painting or a sculpture. 

The second way of buying, is for collectors that are familiar with WEB3. Through a crypto marketplace, they can collect a token that represents one edition of the Inksea Genesis Collection. This token can be kept, can be sold or can be ‘burnt’ to receive to the content of the collection. After Inksea receives a ‘proof of burn’, the content will be sent.

At the launch, a total of 10 editions of the collection are available. If an edition is sold in the traditional way, an edition will also be removed from the crypto marketplace, keeping the total 10.

It was the ambition of Inksea to start with a bang, to create a collection with premium digital art, created by the best digital artists. We took our time to make a long list, a short list, to contact and to pitch the idea to the artists. We are very proud of the final selection and of the art that was created for the Inksea Genesis Collection.

Not at all. One of the primary goals of Inksea is to enable all art lovers to collect premium digital art, especially collectors with little or no experience with blockchain technology. In fact, digital art has nothing to do with blockchain technology. It just happens that many digital artists are drawn towards this technology because it lets you verify ownership in a safe and transparent way.

Yes. Collectors will receive digital tokens that prove ownership, one token for each artwork, created directly by the artist. These tokens are stored safely on the Ethereum Blockchain. Art market experts all agree that this is the future of securely proving ownership of valuables. 

Yes. Collectors will also receive the key to control these digital tokens. With some knowledge of blockchain technology, each artwork could be sold separately. This key is stored inside the physical Cryptosteel Capsule. Collectors with no or little blockchain experience could simply resell this Cryptosteel Capsule and thereby the control over all digital tokens that prove ownership.

For the Inksea Genesis Collection, we chose a square aspect ratio of the digital art frame and art, because it stands out compared to the much used television screens. Future collections may have different aspect ratios.

Absolutely, more collections are on their way. Inksea is working on overview collections like the Genesis Collection, as well as vertical collections around a specific theme or digital art sub-genre. Future collections will always feature top digital artists but may vary in number of editions, pricing and aspect ratio.

Yes. At Inksea we even nickname our Genesis Collection the ‘digital art starter pack’. In future collections, the digital canvas will be optional. So collectors of the Inksea Genesis Collection will be able to collect, curate and exhibit more art on the same digital canvas, using the same mobile app.
