Marcos "Catmac" Fernandez

SPAIN

Catmac, also known as Marcos Fernandez, is a visual artist specializing in large-scale and immersive digital animations. His work explores the intersection of psychology, perception, and visual storytelling. Initially pursuing a doctorate in the Psychology of Perception, he redirected his focus in 2011 to fully dedicate himself to digital art, using visual material as a means of exploration and expression. His passion quickly found a home in live VJ performances, where he began sharing his signature looping animations—seamless, mesmerizing visuals that evolve without noticeable jumps, creating an endless flow of movement.

Since 2012, Catmac has freely shared his loops, inspiring a new generation of visual artists and becoming a key figure in the performing arts. His work oscillates between hyperrealistic depictions of nature and pure abstraction in motion, forming a dialogue between sensory perception and artistic interpretation. At the core of his art is the concept of a “landscape in motion,” an impossible paradox that he continuously explores. Through dynamic patterns and
evolving compositions, he investigates how motion can evoke deep emotional responses and challenge traditional perspectives.

For Catmac, the loop is not merely a technical tool but a conceptual framework—a representation of how perception, creativity, and the chaotic nature of existence intertwine. His art invites viewers to lose themselves in the infinite motion, finding meaning in the hypnotic rhythm of his ever-changing digital landscapes. By continuously pushing the boundaries of digital animation, Catmac creates immersive experiences that challenge how we see and process the world around us.
